To the Point Advice on Voice User Interface Design

This is the first book on Voice User interface design that boiled things down their essence and gave me actionable advice on how to design effective voice experiences. The chapters are short and to the point. I am withholding the fifth star only because the editing could have been a bit better. Otherwise, I recommend the book.

A book on user interfaces that does not follow its own advice

Either VUI design is exceedingly simple, or this publication failed to provide in-depth information about the subject. In addition, it is riddled with spelling errors. At $36, the price is way too steep for a short book that provides very little useful information and was clearly not edited for quality and correct use of language. This is ironic, considering that VUI design is partly about not frustrating the user and using clear and well chosen language. I am giving it 2 stars instead of 1 because I am a beginner in this field and it provided a modicum of helpful information. However, I do not recommend this book. I bought it because it was the most recent publication I could find in the VUI field, but perhaps older publications will prove more helpful. Unfortunately for me, I will have to spend more money to find out.

Bloom complete series

I thought it was a great series.I thought it was really well written by author. I loved the characters in this series.i would read this author again and again and again.I only wished there was more background about the characters in this series.it was a fun book to read.

Absolutely amazing book!!! I originally ordered book 1 because it was free and had tons of good reviews from other members. I was hooked when I started reading it!! The overall plot of the story kept you wanting more!!! The sex was great with just enough bdsm to wet your beak. I was so hooked that I signed up for kindle unlimited( which is a must have I must add) so I could read all of them!!! If you like beginner bdsm this is for you. I love how Rachael finds herself and realizes that she is beautiful and sexy despite her size. Im into bsdm myself but have always been too afraid to try it because of my size. Im a healthy size 16 and have always been insecure about my looks. After reading this its helped me to love myself and realize my husband is a lucky guy!!! A must read!!!!

Writing is Well Done, Subject Matter is Not My Thing

Not what I usually read. The premise and the story - doms, submissives, bdsm - are not truly appealing to me. I bought this on a whim. The writing is well done and the story is unique. If you are into stories similar to Fifty Shades fare, you'll probably enjoy this series. Very visually and descriptively graphic.

About the Author
D. H. Peligro is the longtime and current drummer for legendary San Francisco punk band Dead Kennedys. In 1988, he joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers, replacing Jack Irons, before being fired for drug and alcohol issues. He has released three albums with his band Peligro: Peligro (released in 1995 on Jello Biafra’s Alternative Tentacles record label); Welcome to America; and Sum of Our Surroundings, which won Rock Album of the Year at the 2004 American Independent Music Awards. He also recently recorded a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award. He lives in Los Angeles.

William Knoedelseder spent 12 years as a reporter at the Los Angeles Times, where his groundbreaking coverage of the recording industry for the newspaper's financial section resulted in the critically acclaimed book Stiffed: A True Story of MCA, the Music Business, and the Mafia.

Hardcore from the Hardcore – this book has it all

The insanity of addiction messes with all of us. It doesn't matter if you're a rock star or a homeless dope fiend. Although when we think of junkies we do tend to conjure up the homeless drug addict's image a lot quicker than a popular musician's. If you've got the money or at least the fame you can hide away in rehab and no one will ever know. That is unless you write a book that details every horrid scary moment of your entire life. Which is exactly what D.H. Peligro did in his memoir DREADNAUGHT: KING OF AFROPUNK. Imagine getting kicked out of The Red Hot Chili Peppers for being too loaded? How about bits of your body falling off due to an abscess you've just let fester? Or getting busted selling to an undercover narc? Most folks would shy away from letting the world know all this sordid subject matter. But D.H. Peligro goes for the gold and he does it in such a matter of fact down to earth way that after a few sentences you're hooked and right there with him on his down hill road to hell. And just so you know, the book isn't all the worst moments of his life – there's also a lot of musical history to take in, as well as a bit of dirt on some famous musicians. But in the end it's Peligro's pure determination to live through it all that is the selling point. Check it out, if you're a punk rock aficionado, a drug addict memoir buff, or just a reader of biographies – this book has it.

Searching for meaning, needs more meta

I'm not sure what book the other reviewers read here but I was disappointed in this book and ultimately gave up after reading about 65 percent of it.

This book is about everything at the same time - is it a book about addiction and recovery, is it a book about living in a unique place and time in San Francisco in the late 1970s and early 1980s, is it a book about being a musician, is it a book about being in a very influential punk band?

The first part of the book that talks about growing up in St Louis MO is quite good but once things shift to California the narrative becomes a bit matter of fact - 'Brenda lived across the hall, she was tall, good looking, and we dated' or 'I was in the Dead Kennedys, I played the drums'.

I get that there is a certain amount of wildness and revelry inherent in being a musician but after a point it becomes monotonous reading about getting high, chasing girls, chasing highs, getting girls, over and over again.

My disappointment in this book I guess comes from a lack of any sense of larger lessons learned or more in-depth impressions/narrative drawn from what is surely a very interesting life lived across a spectrum of historically rich and interesting times/places.

This is a must read for anyone who has any interest in Dead kennedys and the story behind the band.
Peligros story will make you smile, laugh, cry and feel really sad.
I, for sure, see everything in a different perspective.

The asm study manual was awesome!! It covers every topic on exam fm/2 in great detail and it helped me pass the fm exam on my first try!! The practice tests that are only included in this 11th edition were very helpful and definitely worth the price!

This is a really great study manual! It explains all the principles very clearly, provides plenty of examples, and also LOTS of practice questions that very closely resemble the questions on the actual exam. With this manual as my mentor, I passed the FM exam (with flying colors) on my first attempt.
